Having started their professional career in antimicrobial stewardship, they have always been passionate about quality improvement and ensuring healthcare delivery is as safe as possible. Approximately five years ago, at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, an opportunity arose to transition into a broader leadership role overseeing infection prevention across their health system. Over the past five years, they have navigated many unique and challenging experiences, but remain motivated by the knowledge that advancing infection prevention and healthcare quality makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients they serve.
