Not All Superheroes Wear Capes

It is hard to believe it has been nearly one year since COVID-19 upended our sense of normalcy. But it is not hard to believe how healthcare professionals focused on quality have stepped up, shared their expertise and led significant and rapid transitions within healthcare organizations across the nation and the globe.

As a member of the NAHQ Board and now the NAHQ president, I appreciate the opportunities to connect with peers and to learn from each other. Upon hearing from NAHQ members and the healthcare community at large about their experiences stemming from this pandemic and reflecting on my personal journey, I am continually amazed at the perseverance shown by all of us during this unprecedented time. There is no doubt in my mind … you are superheroes!

Superheroes constantly look out for the best interest of others. Healthcare professionals focused on quality do just that … we always seek opportunities to improve processes and outcomes within our organization, because improved patient outcomes is ultimately our goal. Not only do we focus on continually improving our organization, we focus on improving ourselves and our immediate teams.
