Glynda Murphy, is a dedicated nurse leader with over 22 years of experience in acute care, including the past seven at Northwest Hospital. She currently serves as the nurse manager of the stroke medical unit, where she is passionate about patient safety, interdisciplinary collaboration, and fostering a supportive work culture. Glynda began her career as a nursing tech while in school, earning her RN from Anne Arundel Community College and later completing her BSN at Liberty University. She thrives on process improvement and mentoring teams through change, which was a driving force behind the success of her unit’s “Gearing Up for Greatness” project—recognized with the 2025 Minogue Award by the Maryland Patient Safety Center. Glynda’s leadership style blends empathy with accountability, and she believes deeply in the power of small changes to create lasting impact. She is honored to share her team’s journey toward safer, more effective patient care.
