Insights to Action: Leveraging Risk Assessments to Drive High Reliability

Proactive risk assessments is a method to identify opportunities to reduce risk & improve safety. Gaining a deeper appreciation of the culture, structure, & leadership within an organization provides insights that can inform actionable improvement opportunities to enhance patient safety. We will outline our methodology for risk assessments including utilizing existing medical malpractice data, culture of safety surveys, patient experience data, safety reporting data, pre-risk assessment survey and our multi-disciplinary risk assessment interview approach. The goal is to create an understanding of the factors influencing safety within the organization and to foster a culture of continuous improvement and shared accountability.
