Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine trained physician with a strong leadership background in patient safety initiative development within the acute care and ambulatory settings. Serving multiple years as Vice Chair of Department of Emergency Medicine, previously academic faculty mentoring residents and attending physicians in evidence-based patient safety practices. As Ambulatory Clinical Effectiveness Officer, co-designed and engaged in leading the implementation of an evidence-based Ambulatory Patient Safety Program, actively building and recruiting an Ambulatory Clinical Safety Champion program, and co-designed and led a system-wide initiative implementing a shorter electronic internal incident reporting form to decrease event submission time. Adept at ensuring compliance to regulatory and accreditation standards and co-chair the organization's Ambulatory Safety Committee. Physician leads root cause analysis and intensive review teams for sentinel events and CANDOR events in the ambulatory and acute care environments. Team member recipient of multiple ChristianaCare Way Awards.
