Are you ready for what’s next in healthcare? Here’s how you can be.

I have been in healthcare for many years now and I’ve seen my share of big changes. However, this year the rapid pace and seemingly constant shifts in the healthcare landscape feel like nothing I’ve encountered before. Sometimes it feels difficult to stay on top of what’s happening right now, much less to prepare for what’s next.

That’s why I am awaiting September’s NAHQ next virtual conference even more eagerly than usual! Each year, I am so impressed at how we continue to pack 2 ½ days with such respected healthcare visionaries from top organizations, offering real-world solutions and innovative ideas. This year NAHQ next will provide all that… and also much more.

DAY 1: UP-TO-THE-MINUTE EXPERTISE FOR A CHANGING LANDSCAPE

We are taking an all-new and very exciting approach to Day 1. To help you stay apace with the rapidly changing landscape, we are staying flexible with the Day 1 agenda curating sessions that will help you navigate emerging trends, breaking news and urgent priorities, remaining open to new content as it evolves.

While flexibility is a key component of Day 1, powerhouse speakers are lined up to deliver up-to-the-moment information.

  • NAHQ CEO Stephanie Mercado will deliver the opening keynote, titled “Leading Change from a National Platform.”
  • CMS Chief Medical Officer and Director of the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ), Dr. Dora Hughes, will share the organization’s latest announcements and guidance.
  • Joint Commission President and CEO Dr. Jonathan Perlin will join Stephanie for a fireside chat. Last year, this dynamic duo elevated Quality & Safety to new heights. This year, I can’t wait to see where their vision leads us in their session titled “Navigating the Next Era: Industry Leadership in a Changing Healthcare Landscape.”
  • Kristine Groves, Acting Associate Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Quality and Patient Safety (ADUSHQPS), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and Michelle Watson, Chief Nurse Executive and Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations at Lifepoint Health, will co-host a session titled “Resilient Leadership in Challenging Times: Navigating Uncertainty in Healthcare.”
  • And, there will be a session on NAHQ’s landmark ROI-Q Report, which definitively quantifies, for the first time ever, the return on investing in the healthcare Quality workforce.

DAY 2: HOW TO ACHIEVE AN ROI ON QUALITY (ROI-Q)

The can’t-miss, timely content continues with trailblazing healthcare professionals sharing their real-world solutions that deliver an ROI on Quality (ROI-Q).

You won’t want to miss:

  • Managing Editor of The Keckley Report’s Paul Keckley revealing how to navigate mega issues and emerging trends
  • Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Chief Patient Experience Officer Steve Meth revealing systems-based strategies for elevating patient experience through Quality
  • CHRISTUS Health’s Vice President of Quality & Safety Claire Lauzen-Vallone presenting a case study on how leading with Quality as a business strategy can drive sustainable change
  • A panel from University of Kansas Health System sharing how they are overcoming pressures in rural and underserved communities
  • And so much more

DAY 3: NAVIGATING YOUR CAREER

Whether you are a seasoned veteran in healthcare Quality or just “Quality curious” and looking for immediate next steps, Day 3 is all about how you can advance your career while advancing the Quality mission.

I can’t wait for our powerful closing keynote speaker, Victoria Arlen. This popular motivational speaker, ESPN host and reporter, Paralympic gold medalist, and Dancing with the Stars semi-finalist will share her remarkable story of resilience, showing us all how to remain “Locked In, But Not Locked Out.”

Just like Day 1, this session will offer strategies for staying resilient in what continues to be a challenging year.

The day will also bring:

  • Top journalists from Modern Healthcare, Becker’s Healthcare and MM+A taking us “Inside the Headlines”
  • A panel providing real-world insights on using AI professionally and personally
  • Archangel Co-Founder and CEO Alexandra Drane helping us provide care for the caregiver

If you haven’t registered for NAHQ next yet, I encourage you to do so today! Because in today’s evolving landscape there are two things of which I am quite confident: Things in healthcare will continue to change. NAHQ will keep you ready through it all, with NAHQ next offering a spectacular lineup of industry experts and relevant topics happening in healthcare now.
