As I reflect on my service with NAHQ, I’m reminded daily that advancing quality in healthcare is not just a professional pursuit—it is a calling.
Like many of you, I’ve built my career in complex and rapidly evolving healthcare environments, and I know that meaningful, measurable change is only possible when people come together, commit, and contribute. That’s why I feel so strongly about the power of volunteerism in our profession.
Volunteer service has always been at the heart of NAHQ’s strength. Whether leading national initiatives, mentoring new professionals, or serving on a committee or board, our volunteers have long advanced the discipline of healthcare quality. I’m inspired by the many NAHQ members who step up to support our mission—and humbled to serve alongside leaders who have contributed so generously to shaping our field. Their passion and commitment are the reason NAHQ continues to lead at the intersection of upskilling the workforce, quality competencies, and measurable healthcare improvement.
For me personally, serving on the NAHQ Board of Directors—and now as its President—has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my career. It’s an opportunity to think boldly about the future of healthcare quality and to work with other leaders who believe, as I do, that we must improve healthcare outcomes and drive value at scale.
