Krishnan Sankaranarayanan, MS, MBA, DFASHRM, FACHE, FISQua, FNAHQ, CPHQ, CPPS, CMQ, is a Joint Commission International surveyor, where he conducts a thorough evaluation of international organizations that meet accreditation/certification eligibility criteria and by analyzing the care delivery system. During the past decade of his 30 years of healthcare industry experience, the focus of all his endeavors has been to make healthcare safer by adopting and implementing the five principles of high reliability. He worked extensively in implementing a culture of safety program in his previous organization, which won several awards and was widely published.

Sankaranarayanan holds a master’s degree in patient safety leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Sankaranarayanan is a fellow of the National Association for Healthcare Quality, fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, distinguished fellow of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, and fellow of the International Society of Quality in Health Care. He is the founding member and the past president of the American College of Healthcare Executives Middle East & North Africa Group. He received NAHQ’s Rising Star Award for 2019 and the Claire Glover Distinguished Member Award for 2021. Sankaranarayanan served as an educational consultant for HealthCareCan (formerly Canadian Healthcare Association), mentoring students for their distance learning programs. He has published several works on topics of patient safety and is a contributing author of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management Patient Safety Risk Management Playbook. He also served as the lead faculty and content developer of the Certified Healthcare Risk Management online course for the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations, a not-for-profit organization based in India.
