Dr. Walty received recognition as a National Health Service Corps Scholar in 2001 and attended medical school at UMDNJ/NJMS. She then relocated to Appalachia to serve her NSHC commitment in an FQHC in KY. She served there as a general inpatient and outpatient pediatrician and as a Lead Physician for her location for 5 years before moving back to the Northeast home and beginning at St. Luke's University Health Network pediatrician in their KidsCare clinic. She welcomed the opportunity to become the first Chief Medical Officer of Star Community Health in January of 2019 and was heavily involved in the development and transition of 15 outpatient offices/vans into a successful FQHC-LA. She continues to see patients in general outpatient pediatrics and precept both medical students and residents. She remains Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatrics in good standing and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
