Amol M. Joshi, PhD, MS, MBA is an inventor who helps others reinvent themselves. Dr. Joshi is the inaugural Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine’s Center for Healthcare Innovation. He is an Associate Professor of Innovation and Commercialization at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM), where he serves as the Course Director for Innovation Management in the MS in Translational Biotechnology Program. His research analyzes health systems' adoption of AI technologies for the early detection and diagnosis of chronic diseases. Dr. Joshi advises executive leaders on evaluating and scaling AI innovations. He also mentors physician-inventors and medical researchers on the best pathways for patenting, protecting, and licensing their intellectual property. As an engineer and entrepreneur in venture capital-funded startups in Silicon Valley, Dr. Joshi co-invented two patents for AI-based voice assistant products. He co-founded BeVocal, a speech recognition software startup acquired by Nuance Communications.
