Nursing Program Specialist - Nursing Quality and Safety - UW Health

I am a Clinical Nurse Leader, MSN-CNL, with 17 years' experience in nursing. My clinical background in intensive care fostered a passion for quality improvement. This led to my current role working at UW Health as a Nursing Program Specialist for Nursing Quality and Safety. As the active co-chair for UW Health's Fall Prevention Committee, CLABSI Prevention Committee, and CAUTI Prevention Committee I lead multiple ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Working with other groups that are competing for limited resources I found a need to align strategy and create programs that are sustainable. This has been key to success in my nursing quality role as more demands are placed and the organization has measured responses to evolving clinical practices.
