I am a Senior Quality Improvement Specialist at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where I support improvement initiatives across cardiovascular and critical care service lines. My work focuses on applying improvement science and structured methodologies to strengthen systems, workforce development, and organizational learning. I served on the multidisciplinary workgroup that designed and implemented the standardized orientation framework described in this project. Notably, I was the final orientee in our department to complete orientation using the previous unstructured approach and later served as a preceptor for the first new hire using the redesigned framework. This experience provided a unique perspective on both the challenges of the prior process and the impact of the improved model. My involvement in improvement initiatives and orientation development positions me to share practical tools and lessons that other healthcare quality professionals can adapt within their organizations.
