Chief Nurse Executive & Senior Vice President Clinical Operations - Lifepoint Health

As chief nurse executive and senior vice president, clinical operations, Michelle serves as the clinical lead of Lifepoint’s operations team. She directs vital areas of care delivery, patient experience and workforce development, including clinical culture and accountability; enterprise nursing operations; clinical education, workforce solutions/university relations; pharmacy operations; and regulatory and accreditation compliance.  She also plays a key leadership role in the Lifepoint National Quality Program (NQP), the NQP Steering Committee and Quality Oversight Committee, and the CMO/CNO Council.

Prior to her current role, she served as senior vice president and chief nursing officer for the organization. Before this, she was chief nursing officer for Lifepoint’s Central Division of hospitals and served as senior vice president of clinical operations and vice president of clinical services. Earlier in her career, she served in several roles for Livingston Regional Hospital – a former Lifepoint facility – including chief nursing officer and infection prevention and quality director and held leadership roles in risk management and nursing supervision.

Before joining Lifepoint, she served five years as chief nursing officer for her local community hospital.  She worked in a variety of healthcare settings earlier in her career, including emergency medical services, long term care, home health and primary care.

Michelle earned a Master of Science in Nursing – Leadership and Management from Western Governor’s University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tennessee Technology University. She is a member of The Joint Commission Chief Nursing Executive Advisory Council, the American Organization of Nurse Leaders and the American Nurses Association.
