Denise Welch, MSHA, CPHQ is a Quality Improvement Team Leader in the Department of Patient Safety and Quality at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she leads enterprise-level initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and clinical workflows. She has extensive experience designing and implementing multidisciplinary quality improvement programs across inpatient and ambulatory settings, including hospital-wide initiatives to improve length of stay, patient safety outcomes, and clinical workflow optimization. Denise also serves as a preceptor within the Quality Improvement department, where she co-developed and implemented a standardized orientation program to strengthen onboarding, mentorship, and integration of new quality professionals. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a TeamSTEPPS® Master Trainer, regularly teaching international healthcare professionals strategies to improve communication, teamwork, and safety culture within their organizations.
