Ms. Calcasola is the Chief Quality Officer, Vice President of Quality and Safety at Hartford Healthcare.
She leads the organization's strategic efforts to clinical excellence and zero harm. Ms. Calcasola has
led transformative changes since coming to Hartford in 2017. The organization saw a 60% drop in
hospital-acquired infections, and all seven acute-care hospitals earned "A" grades from the Leapfrog
Group in fall 2023 and 2024.
She has been recognized as one of Modern Healthcare’s Rising Star Honorees for 2025 - This
prestigious recognition celebrates the outstanding contributions of women across the healthcare
industry, highlighting their efforts in improving care delivery, promoting health equity, shaping policy, and advancing early careerists in healthcare leadership. Hartford Healthcare achieved the distinguished AHA Quest for Quality Award in 2025. Recognized as a Top 25 Chief Quality Officers to 2025 by Women We Admire. Ms. Calcasola received her BSN in nursing from Southern CT State University, New Haven, CT and her Master of Science in Nursing at Yale University, School of Nursing. She is a trained improvement advisor from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement.
