Designing an Ambulatory Quality & Safety Program: Defining Excellence
Ambulatory Quality is challenging to define, with limited events reported and literature guiding organizations to mitigate errors, set quality standards. There are limited quality and safety events reported in specialty clinics, with reasons including limited knowledge of an error, limited time, fear of consequences. We created an infrastructure to explore challenges and create solutions to benefit across areas. To define excellence, we envisioned the ideal patient experience and process as they navigate through our system, identifying gaps prior to an events occurring. We will present work on these initiatives and our approach to defining excellence in patient experience and processes.
