How Do You Know You’re Highly Reliable? A Practical HRO Maturity Model

High Reliability is often taught, but far less often measured in ways that feel meaningful to frontline teams. This session describes how Kaiser Permanente Northern California developed and implemented a practical High Reliability Organization (HRO) Maturity Assessment to help teams understand their current state of reliability and identify focused, achievable next steps. Through real-world examples, participants will learn how a maturity model can make HRO behaviors visible, guide prioritization, and support learning without turning reliability into a scorecard exercise. Attendees will leave with practical insights to assess, discuss, and advance high reliability in daily work.
