Elevating Ambulatory Care Excellence Through the DHIP Patient Safety Liaison Program
The DHIP Patient Safety Liaison (PSL) Program has enhanced patient safety, quality, and regulatory readiness across more than 110 ambulatory clinics by empowering frontline staff to serve as safety leaders. Each clinic appoints a PSL who receives training, participates in monthly meetings, leads biannual mock surveys, delivers unit-based education, and serves as a link between clinic teams and the Quality & Safety department. Since the program’s implementation, Joint Commission observations have improved annually, mock-survey compliance has remained high, and safety reporting has increased—demonstrating a stronger culture of “Good Catch” reporting.
