Microlearning As a Pedagogy to Train Physicians on Digital Health Equity
This original research used microlearning to train physicians how to work with professional language interpreters in a virtual environment. Resource and time constraints for academic medical centers and federally qualified health centers necessitate effective mechanisms to disseminate evidence-based practices. This approach to improve patient safety with a technology acceptance framework and learning theory is largely unexplored. An unexpected finding was that bilingual physicians and physicians who only spoke English perceived the ease of working with interpreters differed for certain components of a telehealth encounter. Results show that microlearning can be effective in training physicians in digital health equity.
