NAHQ and Joint Commission International (JCI) recently announced a collaboration to provide an educational program to healthcare organizations seeking to develop their workforce with the industry-standard healthcare competencies. The evidence-based training program will help prepare individuals for the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality® (CPHQ) exam by developing their competencies in quality and patient safety. This collaboration is outside the USA only.

This opportunity allows NAHQ to further its mission of advancing and improving healthcare quality by preparing a competent, coordinated workforce and closing gaps in healthcare delivery. And, the partnership represents NAHQ’s and JCI’s shared commitment to improve healthcare quality and safety around the globe.

In other news, I hope you saw last month’s op-ed in Modern Healthcare written by NAHQ CEO Stephanie Mercado. The work that NAHQ has done to develop and twice-validate the Healthcare Quality Competency Framework is gaining traction on so many levels and will help solve the challenges in today’s healthcare environment.

We are also doing more work with healthcare delivery organizations, and they are embracing NAHQ’s twice-validated competency model, the CPHQ and other team training resources.

Join us for a complimentary webinar on February 26 from 1-2 pm CT to learn from Tri-City Medical Center about how they committed to NAHQ’s team training and accelerated improved patient and financial outcomes.

As you can see from this recent activity, NAHQ’s mission to reduce variability in healthcare quality competencies is resonating. And, we look forward to helping organizations and individuals around the world improve healthcare quality for those they serve.

Yours truly,
Carole Guinane, RN BA MBA CPHQ
NAHQ President
